Custom t-shirts

A custom t-shirt is a plain shirt with your logo or design printed or stitched on it. Use it for staff, events, or shirts you give away or sell. Unitix prints custom t-shirts in Australia.

Key takeaways

  • Custom t-shirts (sometimes called custom tees or printed t-shirts) are made with your artwork. They are not a blank pack from a supermarket.
  • Screen print suits a simple logo when you need a lot of shirts. Digital print (often called DTG) suits photos and lots of colours. Embroidery is a stitched logo, not a big picture.
  • Who will wear the shirt matters more than the exact logo colour. Staff shirts, event giveaways, and shirts you sell need different prints.
  • Unitix prints custom t-shirts in Australia. For colder months see custom hoodies. High-visibility work shirts are custom workwear.

Screen print, digital print, or embroidery

The right method depends on your artwork. A photo will not look right if we treat it like a two-colour logo.

How it looksInk sits on the fabric. This is the classic printed t-shirt feel.Ink soaks into the cotton. Soft, and good for full colour. The logo is stitched on. It feels more like a uniform than a concert shirt.

Events, staff, or everyday wear

The right t-shirt depends on who will wear it and where. Staff uniforms, event giveaways, and shirts you sell all need a different print and a different feel.

Events and shirts you sell

For a concert, a launch, or a club stall, people should be able to read the design from a few metres away. Put it on the front or the back, keep the contrast strong, and keep the wording large. If you want the same design on something warmer, add a custom hoodie.

Staff and teams

A small logo on the left chest is usually enough. The shirt has to survive the wash, and it should not look like a concert souvenir. If the team needs a collar, order a custom polo. If they work on a site or a road and need to be seen, that is custom workwear, not a regular tee dyed bright yellow.

A heavier cotton shirt

We usually start with a premium cotton t-shirt. Button-up shirts in the same range (oxford and denim) are a different shape. Do not order them if you want a t-shirt.

This page is for people. Shirts for dogs, or blanks from a fashion marketplace, are a different product.

What to send us

We can quote once we know the shirt colour, how many of each size, your artwork, and where the logo sits. A pile of inspiration photos is not enough.

  1. 1

Tell us who will wear them

Event guests, staff, a sports team, or shirts you will sell. That tells us whether you need a big back print or a small chest logo, and whether you also want hoodies or hats.

  2. 2

Choose how the logo goes on

Screen print for a simple logo on a large order. Digital print for a photo. Embroidery if the same logo has to match other clothing. Say front, back, or both.

  3. 3

Send artwork that will print cleanly

For screen print and embroidery, send a logo file from design software (.ai, .eps, or .svg), not a photo of your website. For digital print, a high-resolution image is fine.

  4. 4

List sizes and approve a proof

Tell us how many small, medium, large, and so on, plus a few extras. We will show you a mock-up on the real shirt colour before we print. Then browse custom t-shirts.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get a custom t-shirt printed in Australia?+
From a merchandise printer, not a fashion shop. Unitix prints custom t-shirts with screen print, digital print, or embroidery, and ships across Australia. Melbourne and interstate orders use the same process.
Where can I find high-quality custom t-shirts?+
Check the fabric and ask to see a proof on the actual shirt colour. Unitix starts from a heavyweight cotton tee. See the tees and shirts range.
How much do custom t-shirts usually cost?+
It depends on the shirt, how we print it, how many colours are in the design, and how many you need. There is no single shelf price. Ask from the tees and shirts range once you have those details.
